All About Me

My name is Tanya Swygert.  I am the Early Intervention Math Teacher at Miller Elementary in Warner Robins, GA.  My job is to help students who are currently below grade level in their math skills.

I have been teaching at Miller since August 2004.  As the Math EIP teacher, I have the privilege of working with students from kindergarten through fifth grade.  Last year I completed the Early Childhood Math Endorsements.  I also have endorsements in Gifted Education, Reading, Teacher Support Specialist, Leadership, and Special Education.

Before becoming the Math EIP teacher at Miller, I was an elementary school administrator for 2 years.  Prior to that, I was a Reading EIP teacher for 4th and 5th grade students.  My first teaching position was as an Early Childhood Special Education teacher for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools for Robins AFB.  I have been teaching since August 1998.

I obtained my doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia in 2006.  I also have a Master's in Education (Early Childhood and Special Education) from Auburn University-Montgomery, and a Master's in Education (Educational Psychology) from Wichita State University.  I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento.  I have also completed graduate-level work in Leadership and Administration, School Psychology, and Counseling.
